PDG Jessie Harman
Chair, Rotary International Membership Committee
Drawing on her experience in Rotary and as a researcher, Jessie will share ideas and tips on how clubs can strengthen membership through more effective member engagement and retention.
Jessie is a member of the Rotary Club of Wendouree Breakfast in Ballarat, Victoria, and is active at club, district and international levels. She is a past club Secretary and President, and was Governor in District 9780 in 2010-2011. More recently she has served as Rotary Co-ordinator (2013-2016), Project Lead for the Regional Membership Plan for Australia and New Zealand (2013-2017) and Governor-Elect Training Co-ordinator for Australia (2014-2015).
Internationally, Jessie has been a Training Leader and Seminar Trainer at Rotary’s International Assembly in San Diego (2014-2015; 2017-2018). This year, she is Chair of the Membership Committee for Rotary International and a member of the Honolulu Convention Organising Committee.
In her working life, Jessie has spent the last three decades in Tertiary Education management, most recently as Pro Vice-Chancellor (International and Partnerships) at Federation University Australia.
She is married to Andrew, also a Rotarian, and mother to Claire, Georgia and James.
